Slow pace of play. Felt like I was stuck in crawling traffic on the 101. Checked Poppy Hills off my bucket list but also had to add it to my “slowest round of golf ever” list. No oversight of pace of play. It is a shame that management doesn’t enforce pace of play. Read reviews over past few years as proof of pace of play being a persistent issue. If pace of play is the least bit important to you, I suggest you skip playing Poppy Hills until something is done about this.

SLOW play. Took five hours to complete our round. Had to wait on every hole. Group in front had to wait on the group in front of them. Poppy Hills is the home course of the Northern California Golf Association (and owned by the NCGA), so you would think the group would care about, promote and enforce pace of play. Unfortunately, that is not the case. No rangers to ensure a reasonable pace of play. Kills the experience. Nice course, but I can’t recommend you play it.

What an absolute gem! Ive always heard good things but this was something special. I haven't had chills on a golf course like this since Bandon. The course set up and conditions were perfect. Love the little tee markers, such a nice touch. No excuse to not come if you're and NCGA members, but its worth the price and the drive (not local). Check the yardage before selecting the tee box for yourself.

This is a top class course in California. Unfortunately we got rained out only got truly 7 holes in before the rain soaked the course, but you can’t blame the course for the weather. This place was perfectly manicured and a fun “forest” style course on the Monterey peninsula. I look forward to coming back for another visit when the weather is more cooperative.

I recently had the pleasure of playing at Poppy Hills Golf Course, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The course layout is stunning, with beautiful views and challenging holes that kept me engaged throughout my round. The greens were in excellent condition, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
One of the highlights was the natural beauty surrounding the course, including the majestic trees and rolling hills. The clubhouse is also well-equipped, offering a cozy atmosphere to unwind after a game.
Whether you're a seasoned golfer or a beginner, Poppy Hills is a must-visit. I can't wait to return for another round!
