Good golf course but needs to enforce helping faster players get through. Very frustrating waiting doing almost 20 mins per hole.

The focus here is the golf course, campground, and boat ramp. We came here in the off season so not many people were around, the boat ramp area looks nice and large with ample parking. There is a small park and playground area. I'd like to see more hiking or recreational trails around the island, and maybe some of that exists in the campground area which was closed when we were there. It is close to a population center and easy to access.

First time playing this course but I will definitely be playing it again. Fairways were in great shape the greens were all very consistent. Staff was very friendly and helpful with the layout of the course. Was a little slow but I was not in a hurry so I enjoyed the view.

I’ve always heard that General Burnside Island golf course was a top public course in KY. Well today it lived up to expectations. The fairways are nice and plush but the greens are excellent. They are very true even in the breaks. Today I just happened to score my personal best 77. Only one thing threw me off and that was the gravel fairway bunker on #10. It’s a little pricey too ($53). No senior discounts for the weekends. Otherwise, I can’t wait to come back.

Pretty nice public state owned golf course…they are redoing some of the bunkers so some are perfect and some are unplayable…some of the softest greens I’ve ever played..holds the ball coming in well…fly it all the way to the hole!! The zoysia fairways are like carpet!! Wildlife abound…we saw deer, ground hogs, all types of birds, some even seen turkeys!! Pretty tough layout for length and the greens do roll true but not very fast…only complaint would be amount of weeds in rough, bunkers, etc. Makes very hard to play the ball down with all the vine type weeds…is a little pricey on the weekend…57$ for 18 with a cart!! Worth the trip to play there!!
