Fun layout, well maintained, good pace of play. Course will challenge you in different ways. No holes feel redundant. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed due to staffing issues.

Absolutely phenomenal experience; true gem and a must play. From the staff at the shop to the staff at the halfway house to the state of the course and the scenic views.

Paid $131.50 cash for 18 holes and a small bag of balls last week. Workers on almost every hole on the back 9 disrupting play. Also on the front 9 some holes. Sprinklers on one hole across the entire fairway then had to wait another 10 minutes minimum for a guy on the green with hoses and a tank cart. No consideration for paying customers. Almost got hit by a worker in a cart flying over a hill on the cart path. Front wheels off the ground! A trench completely around another hole. Blowers down the fairway, workers everywhere. Love this place but the pace of play painfully slow and the disruption of play will keep me away. Certainly not worth the price paid for the quality of golf this trip! The excellent restaurant is no longer there replaced by a barbecue that was already closed for the season. Shot one under front 9 but the back no so good no excuses just saying. Actually skipped a hole watching 4 guys take 20 minutes to tee off. They reloaded twice each and one guy hit it in the bushes next to the tee. Then proceeded to walk over looking for his ball. Found it 5 minutes later and returned to the tee to hit that ball while the other 3 watched. Slight improvement Then they reloaded after they all hit it in the woods. I drove up at that point to skip the hole and they were hitting again, I apologized thought they were heading down the fairway. Hidden River cannot control that stuff but as many as 3 carts of workers on one hole some just sitting others doing stuff. Crazy round of golf. Played Indian River the day b4 in 2 1/2 hours and the same yesterday at Verona Hills though that is not expected but a 3 hour back nine dreadful.

What a treat! Great scenery on almost every hole. Thoroughly enjoyed playing this northern Michigan wooded gem. We stayed for dinner and found a fresh menu with a variety of the chef's creations. The chef recommend the parmesan encrusted white fish. It was excellent! Prepared and presented perfectly. Our table of 8 tried a variety of dinners and everyone enjoyed their meal thoroughly. There's a full wine list and a full bar. It was a great way to top off our round of golf on a great course. I would recommend this course to any golfer of any skill level.

Absolutely amazing course. Picked to play here rather than going over to Boyne, and it was the right move. The course has an amazing layout. Front nine has a little links feel to it and the back take you through the woods. It’s in amazing condition. Well worth the price. Joe, the super intendant has done amazing work. Could not recommend this course enough.
