Course Review: I was really disappointed with my first experience here. I’m a member at Chateau, so I had high hopes, but the course conditions fell far short. The teeboxes and fairways were either bare or overgrown and badly needed maintenance. The rough was inconsistent both in length and quality. While the greens were well-maintained, the design was extremely frustrating — the excessive turtleback shaping made it nearly impossible to hold shots unless you hit a high moon ball with a ton of spin. It made for an unenjoyable round. Holes 2 and 3 are under repair and are currently playing as par threes, but all tees are set up from the same spot, which feels lazy and rushed. On the positive side, the staff in the pro shop and cart barn were excellent — friendly, professional, and working hard, especially considering they had to turn around carts from a morning tournament. However, there were no beverage carts or cold water stations on the course, which is unacceptable, especially in warmer weather. Our cart had broken suspension, groaning and squeaking at every turn, and the geomapping system was completely dysfunctional on the back nine. Our cart repeatedly shut off while on the path because it mistakenly thought we were near tee boxes or greens, forcing us to drive holes 16 and 17 almost entirely in reverse to finish the round. We finished around 5 pm and the pro shop and restaurant was all locked up with no access to bathrooms. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. There’s potential here, but the course and infrastructure need a lot of work before I’d consider returning.

After being let down and a bit disgusted after my first time visiting New Orleans and Bourbon Street, this place was an absolute gem. Very fun and beautiful course, I found myself in trouble a few times and had to shape the ball right or left around mature trees. Took a while to figure out yardages with no markers in the fairway (they’re actually on the cart path) and got lost because someone ran over the signs that help navigate you to the next hole.. all just “first timer” problems and wouldn’t be an issue if I play here again. Staff is super helpful and friendly, they were kind enough to store my bags while I played a round before my flight. Rental clubs were fantastic. Bartender was a super nice lady as well.

Greens rolling true but it was crowded. No drinking water on course. No driving range. The scenery is interesting.

One of the best kept secrets of the area. New manager has really gotten the golf course and swimming pool in tip top shape. The entire club has been improving since he came in. The golf course is just awesome.
