Kapalua Golf - The Plantation Course

The Plantation Course at Kapalua is absolutely spectacular and easily one of the most memorable golf experiences I’ve ever had. The views alone are worth the trip — sweeping ocean vistas, lush mountains, and beautifully maintained fairways make every hole a postcard moment. This is the iconic course where the PGA TOUR kicks off each year with the Sentry Tournament of Champions, and you can really feel that championship pedigree as you play. It’s a challenging but fair layout that rewards strategy and precision. One thing to note: if the wind picks up (which it often does in Maui), the course can become significantly tougher. Club selection becomes a true test, and even short holes can demand your full attention. That said, it’s all part of the experience and adds to the fun and authenticity of the round. Highly recommend for any golfer visiting Maui — it’s a must-play.

The club house and staff were awesome. I played the blue course but was sent to the gold course to hit free range balls with a cart and free rental clubs. I then went to the blue course and got the same rental clubs and cart to play. The views and course outstanding.

Such a beautiful course to play. It was on my bucket list to play and wife said you may not get another chance. I had a great experience. If you can swing the cost it's highly recommended. Greens are large and challenging to read correctly. Staff was friendly very helpful.

If you’re deciding to play golf in Maui, play here. Now if you’re deciding to play The Bay course or The Plantation, tell your wife I said you HAVE to play here. Get her whatever she wants for $700 Canadian or $450 USD, because every hole on this course is a postcard and a riot to play. I hit my first ever drive 400 + yards on 18, and two over 390 yards (one on #6 - the drivable par 4) almost every hole has an ocean view and I even got to get extra strokes in when I 4 putted (and wasn’t even mad about it). The greens are absolutely mint and true. Easily some of the best greens I’ve played on.

Coolest and nicest course I've played so far. Very challenging, wind was in our face most every direction. Ha! Well maintained and loved playing the Bermuda, which was a first for me. Greens were pretty fast and tough to gauge. Really large course. Enjoyed the cart rides from hole to hole. Very friendly staff. Great pace of play. Was able to hit some absolute bombs!
