Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

Course was in fantastic condition, greens were perfect and weather absolutely perfect that day. Had a wonderful time with my son for his birthday. He also let me win which was very nice of him 👍

We had a great time playing the course on January 12, 2025. It’s a great walker’s course, with not too many long walks between holes (although there are a few). The fairways and tee boxes were over seeded but the tips were not for some reason. The greens were nice and rolling around 11-12 and true. The bunkers were in good shape with a good amount of sand. I didn’t get to try any of the food, but what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked really good. The pro shop was nice and the staff was friendly. There’s no driving range, but there’s a practice green and a few flags to chip at. I definitely want to try to get out here again in the spring.

I love Mike Strantz and from my understanding this was his first solo golf course! I Don't think I'm going out on a limb. when I say in golf course architecture he was an extremist. people tried to temper him down but never really worked! you either loved him or you did not like his courses. I personally absolutely loved it then again, Caledonia was a humbling experience and one of the worst rounds of golf I've had in years can't blame him though even though he made it far more daunting than I would have liked aesthetically. it's an absolutely beautiful golf course. just doesn't suit my game as well as some of his others like bulls Bay or his sister course across the street. true blue which I prefer! that being said, you definitely need to check this one off your list. the conditions are flawless and The teebox markers are decoy ducks. I mean seriously. how cool is that!

This course is easily a top 5 in SC. From the beautiful drive in surrounded by Spanish moss trees to the complimentary chowder during your round, we loved every second of being here.

Course was in awesome shape. Played Sunday 7/28 and pace of play was 5 hours not good. Service was impeccable. If you want to hit the range before hand you need to go across the street to true blue before. I did this with no issues. The layout is phenomenal except for that fart of a hole called #9.
