Overall this is a great course at a great value relative to what a round costs. This is not the most challenging course around, but it is a fun and rewarding course. I last played in late April and the course was in surprisingly great shape. Most of the tee boxes are well-maintained. The greens are largely well-kept and free of the endless divots you find on many other public courses. As a 15 handicap, When Playing from the whites, this course is fairly easy to have birdie putts on almost every hole.

Use to be my favorite course, but sad what they have done with the prices and are getting greedy. Upping the rates again this year when they don’t even have 18 holes is a joke. There’s no alternative hole for the one closed, so it makes no sense. Plus they say the 17 holes is reflected in the price, but doesn’t seem to be the case since they upped it by another $10 this year… shame.

People come from the mainline to play this course. I love that it’s in our back yard as a Elversonian! It’s hands down the best value course I’ve ever played. By that, I don’t mean cheap at all. But the money you pay to play here in comparison to the conditions are just amazing. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Classy place!
Keep it up HGC. I’ll be a patron for a long time to come.

A well run facility that is in terrific condition and a staff that is more than helpful. Arrived there for a ten thirty tee time with many groups ahead of us and still played a four hour round. A few easy holes to start off and then it gets fun. There are many terrific views there of the amish country. A driving range and a putting green, always a plus. A reputation for being the friendliest golf course around and they certainly live up to it.

What a great course and an enjoyable round of golf. The staff, facilities and course are all above par (in a good way). As far as courses in Chester county go, this is a great public track. Greens seemed to have a lot of ball marks that aren’t repaired well. But over all they rolled well, definitely sped up as the dew dried off late morning. The big plus was playing under 3.5 hours.
