Cog Hill Golf & Country Club

Zero stars for course #1. Unbelievably bad from start to finish. A little bit of rain had come through the day before and it was cart paths only. Ok, fair enough, but then we had to divert several times from the cart path early-on just to avoid the sprinklers that were creating a muddy mess around the course. They have tiny hand-drawn hole markers to let you know where to go which caused us to get turned around more than once when we inevitably missed the tiny visual cue to turn. They literally had drawn the hole numbers in Crayon. Probably Temu crayons, not even Crayola. The few times we were actually in the fairway we noticed there were lots of divots that appeared to be quite old, with little to no effort to fill these and properly maintain the course. Not coincidentally they do not have sand bottles on the course or carts, like literally anywhere. When I inquired about this the greenskeeper said they prefer to let the overworked and underpaid course maintenance folks fill them, which they obviously don't get to. Next up is the bunkers. I have to imagine folks who are unfortunate enough to play shots from the beach would like to rake the bunker for the next groups coming through. Oh but not at Cog Hill, they don't put out rakes! Not just one bunker, every frickin' bunker, no rakes. At around 1:30 we were making the turn and proceeded to get stuck behind the mower for three holes. The mower was absolutely in no hurry to allow us to get through and replacing tee markers was not a priority. This caused us to tee it up wherever the hell we thought was about where the Whites would be. As we concluded our round I returned to the Pro Shop to return my rental clubs. In order to rent clubs you must leave your Driver's License with the Pro Shop staff, not a problem, until they lost it. For about 20 minutes my license was simply lost. Alas, they finally found it in some random location because they don't have a consistent process to coordinate club rentals. This was the cherry on top of a wild day at Cog Hill #1. An utter embarrassment to golf courses. I've never played Dubs dread, and I imagine it's pretty great, but this experience has soured me so much on anything Cog Hill I will not be back to play Dubs. It's a sad state of affairs over in Lemont, IL.

Played No 1. Just punched greens are tolerable but there was no sand and they weren't even rolled. Putting was a joke. All the boxes were beat up. Traps hopefully just weren't filled yet because they were unplayable. Very rare actual bathrooms which proved problematic for the ladies. Even the carts were beat up. I've played better park district and forest preserve courses. Range is decent though. Extremely crowded but nice.

We had our wedding at Cog Hill this past year, and it was better than we could have imagined! Renee was amazing. She made sure everything was set up as we asked, and was extremely helpful coordinating the reception throughout the night. She was very easy to communicate with and very flexible with us. All of our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was. The food was great. Thank you to everyone at Cog Hill for making our wedding so memorable!

I had an awesome experience playing Course No. 2, Ravines, at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club. From the moment we arrived for our early tee time, the staff’s kindness stood out. Even as they were just opening up and getting the day started, they were incredibly sweet and accommodating, making us feel right at home. Cog Hill is a stunning facility overall, and it strikes the perfect balance between being welcoming and challenging. The driving range is fantastic, offering a great space to warm up, but what I love most is how it’s not a stuffy or pretentious place. It truly feels like a golf center for everyone—welcoming to the everyday golfer while still offering top-notch courses that demand your best game. As for the Ravines course itself, I absolutely loved it. The layout is thoughtful and engaging, with each hole offering something unique. Several holes are especially scenic, making for not only a great round of golf but also a visually rewarding experience. It’s not a course to be underestimated, though—you definitely need to bring your “A” game to enjoy it fully. Being new to the area, Cog Hill has already made a lasting impression on me. This was my first round here, but it certainly won’t be my last. I’m excited to return and try all the other courses they have to offer. For anyone looking for a high-quality golf experience without the pretension, Cog Hill—and especially the Ravines course—is a must-play. This was a very overdue review from this past Spring ❤️

Awesome facility, huge driving range with shot tracing. We played ravines and while I didn't shoot too well at a 101, it was still a great experience. Staff at drink cart and the turn were hospitable and overall was a great experience. I will be back
